WWGJ2025 - Back in Time

The theme for the 2-week, mid-term University of Warwick 2025 Game Jam was 'Back in Time'. Between balancing the upcoming courseworks/lectures and working on this, I'm happy with the final product, in which I believe I gave a good try at recreating physics based movement, such as that found in Titanfall 2. Featuring wallrunning, wall-jumping, sliding, air-strafing, and working sliding platforms.

The idea for the game itself was that while running over a certain speed, you would accrue time (think Back to the Future), which could be spent to rewind the state of the world around you - reversing moving platforms, or even un-doing player-used items, like C4, or a throwable Chakram weapon.

In the case of C4, you could throw it, use it's explosion for momentum, and rewind time on your way back, collecting to c4 before it exploded, and being able to use it again somewhere else. If only me level design skills could facilitate that kind of interaction.

All the while, enemies outside of time (unaffected by your rewinding) would try and shoot you while you completed some puzzle-parkour-esque levels (dont worry, once you kill them once they wont come back if you rewind to before whenever you killed them!).

Many of the people who played it there were completely unfamiliar with the games I was trying to replicate, but for the 2 who were also fans of movement shooters, the movement clicked, which I suppose is a win for me.
